Lately it's crossed my mind to ask: Who are the major players in the business of "remote repair" aka "repairing computers remotely?"
Well, to start, that's a fairly broad question. You could answer it in terms of local/regional remote repair service providers, large corporations providing remote repair service or large corporations manufacturing hardware and software enabling remote repair capabilities.
It'll be easiest to cover the last two out of the three since they involve large corporations that may be more familiar to you. So that is what I will start to do here.
The best that I can tell, the major corporate computer services providers offering "remote repair" services include the following:
- Support.com
- SupportSpace.com
- Geek Squad (Part of the Best Buy Inc.)
- Progent

As for corporations manufacturing hardware and software enabling "remote repair," these appear to include the following:
